THE COMPONENTS

Students in grade 10-12 registered in ELITEadp will be required to follow the regular class schedule, maintain academic standards for graduation requirements and follow their Individual Fitness Plan (IFP) established at the beginning of each year.

Student’s IFPs will break down training into a periodized schedule that will allow for a systematic planning of athletic or physical training. The aim is to reach the best possible performance in the most important competition of the year. It involves progressive cycling of various aspects of a training program during a specific period.

           PHASES OF TRAINING

Students will start the year setting their own athletic goals and will receive their own training regime for the year that will be re-assessed and modified in consultation with the athlete and the instructor. The training program will be broken down into three phases with each emphasizing different training goals. Training will be organized and planned around the competitive season.  The plan of ELITEadp is that the training program will direct and guide athletic training over the year.

           CURRICULUM

The curriculum for this program is part of the Physical and Health Education component implemented by the Ministry of Education - September 2016. ELITEadp will embrace the components for graduation and core competencies for Physical and Health Education.
